Medical ID

What is Medical ID?

Medical ID helps emergency responders access your critical medical information from the Lock Screen, without needing your passcode. They can see information such as allergies and medical conditions, as well as who to contact in case of an emergency.

If you’re found unconscious, this tool could make a huge difference to your chances of recovery. If you’re allergic to aspirin, for example, it means the paramedics won’t accidentally administer it, potentially causing anaphylaxis and making a bad situation worse.

How to set up your medical ID

If your phone is not compatible with this feature, there is an app you can download that performs the same function. The Medical ID: ICE lets you display very similar data, the only difference being that the app displays it immediately on your lock screen for easy accessibility – as long as you enable this during setup.
