CPR for Children & Infants

The CPR for children and infants is very similar the adult CPR. Here are the differences below;

  • Give 5 rescue breaths before administering chest compressions. Now start 30 compressions to 2 rescue breaths and repeat
  • To give rescue breaths to an infant, breath into their mouth and nose at the same time. These breaths are not as forceful as on a child or adult. Be careful not to over extend their head too far back when opening their airway
  • Use 2 fingers to compress an infants chest
  • Use 1 hand to compress a child’s chest
