Course Overview
This Paediatric First Aid course has been designed to provide you with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in a wide range of emergency situations involving infants and children.
You will learn how to assess an incident, recognise life-threatening conditions, and deliver safe, effective first aid until professional help arrives.
The course covers essential topics including:
- Emergency life-saving procedures
- Choking, bleeding and shock
- Head, neck and spinal injuries
- Medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes and seizures
- Burns, electric shock and extreme temperatures
- Poisoning, bites, stings and allergic reactions
- Caring for an unwell child
- Medication and incident reporting
✅ FAIB Approved Training
This course is aligned with the standards set by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). It meets the requirements for Paediatric First Aid training and follows current UK first aid guidelines and best practice.
⚠️ Important – Blended Learning Requirement
This course forms the theory element of a blended Paediatric First Aid qualification. To receive a full Paediatric First Aid certificate, you must also complete:
- 1 day (6 hours) of face-to-face practical training
This practical session will assess your ability to perform essential skills such as:
- CPR
- Use of an AED
- Recovery position
- Choking treatment
- Practical first aid scenarios
❗ You will not be certified until both the online learning and the practical training have been successfully completed.
