
This Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed to give you the essential knowledge, practical understanding, and confidence to respond effectively to workplace emergencies.
You will learn how to assess incidents quickly, identify life-threatening conditions, and provide immediate first aid to a casualty until professional help arrives.
📚 What the Course Covers
This course focuses on core life-saving first aid skills, including:
- The role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Assessing an emergency situation safely
- The primary survey (DR ABC)
- CPR and the use of an AED
- Care of an unconscious casualty
- The recovery position
- Choking recognition and treatment
- Managing seizures
- Severe bleeding and wound care
- Minor injuries (cuts, grazes, splinters, minor burns)
- Shock recognition and treatment
- Incident recording and reporting
👉 Optional enhanced topics may include:
- Life-threatening bleeding
- Wound packing
- Tourniquet use
✅ FAIB Approved Training
This course is aligned with the standards set by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB).
It meets the requirements for Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training and follows current UK first aid guidelines and best practice.

⚠️ Blended Learning Requirement
This course forms the theory element of a blended Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
To achieve full certification, you must also complete:
A face-to-face practical training session (typically 3–4 hours), forming part of a minimum 6-hour blended learning course
During your practical training, you will be assessed on:
- Conducting a primary survey
- Performing CPR and using an AED
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
- Placing a casualty in the recovery position
- Treating choking
- Controlling bleeding and applying dressings
❗ You will not be certified until both the online and practical elements have been successfully completed.
